Usage Policy
This policy describes permitted use of Watson’s websites, applications, APIs, integrations, and related services, including preview features. Watson Labs, Inc. is referred to as “Watson,” “we,” or “us.”
"Customer" means the business or organization receiving the services. "You" means Customer or an individual using the services, as the context requires. This policy applies to Customer's authorized users, including employees, contractors, and invited clients.
“Your Content” has the meaning given in the Terms of Service: information and materials you upload, create, import, transmit, store, or otherwise provide through the Services.
1. Relationship to your agreement
This policy forms part of the Watson Terms of Service and any other agreement that incorporates it, or applies when you otherwise expressly accept it. Accepting the Early Access Terms alone does not accept this policy or the full Terms of Service. If this policy conflicts with the applicable service agreement, that agreement controls unless it expressly provides otherwise.
This policy does not expand Watson's rights to use Your Content or change agreed confidentiality, data protection, refund, or export obligations. It does not create additional fees or change your plan's limits.
2. Responsible business use
Use Watson for the business activities your agreement permits. Project coordination, sharing work with authorized clients, and using supported integrations and automation are permitted within your access rights and service limits.
Customer must manage invitations and permissions, keep account information accurate, and remove access when a person no longer needs it. Invite people only to workspaces and records they are authorized to access. Customer is responsible for its users' compliance with this policy and must not direct or knowingly enable violations by others.
You must have the permissions needed to upload, share, or process information and to instruct Watson to act through a connected account. A workspace invitation does not give you rights to someone else's information or authority to act on their behalf.
3. Prohibited conduct and content
You must not use Watson to:
- Commit fraud, impersonate others, steal credentials, or facilitate unlawful transactions.
- Threaten violence, enable terrorism, or organize abuse or targeted harassment.
- Create, possess, distribute, or facilitate child sexual abuse material or sexual exploitation, including synthetic material.
- Distribute or threaten to distribute intimate imagery without consent.
- Promote violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or deceptive invitations.
- Infringe intellectual property or disclose private information without authority.
These restrictions apply to files, messages, shared links, instructions, and actions performed through integrations.
4. Accounts, security, and service limits
Use individual credentials and protect connected account tokens. Do not access another customer's workspace, export records outside your permissions, or retain access after authorization ends.
Do not introduce malware, disrupt availability, bypass security controls, or evade quotas through additional accounts or rotated credentials. Do not conduct intrusive testing without written authorization. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately and stop testing if it exposes another person's information.
Ordinary use of supported APIs, integrations, and exports is permitted. Keep automation within documented limits and the permissions granted to it. If a workflow repeatedly fails, stop or correct it before retries interfere with the service. You may not use another customer's credentials or integration connection to obtain additional capacity.
You may not resell standalone access to Watson or offer it as a service bureau without our written agreement. This does not restrict ordinary delivery of your own work to clients through supported collaboration features.
5. Customer information and connected services
Share only the information needed for the task and with the intended recipients. Check workspace membership, link visibility, and integration permissions before sharing confidential records. Do not place passwords, recovery codes, or API secrets in ordinary project descriptions, comments, or publicly accessible files. Use designated credential fields when a supported integration requires a secret.
You may use supported invoicing and payment features for ordinary business records, such as customer contact details, invoice line items, amounts, and payment status. Enter payment credentials only through designated payment collection flows. Do not put full card numbers, card security codes, bank login credentials, or similar payment secrets in notes, messages, attachments, or other general-purpose fields. Card security codes must not be retained after payment authorization.
Do not use Watson to process protected health information or other information requiring a specialized compliance arrangement unless Watson has expressly agreed to support that use under the necessary written terms. A private workspace alone does not establish such an arrangement, and no agreement permits processing prohibited by applicable law or payment-network requirements.
When connecting an external service, you must be entitled to grant the requested access. Do not configure a workflow to retrieve information or perform an action that your own external account is not authorized to access or perform. Disconnect integrations when your authority ends.
6. Reporting a concern
Report suspected misuse or a security concern to hello@withwatson.co. Include the relevant workspace or page identifier, a description of the concern, and enough information for us to locate the activity. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or copies of illegal material. For sensitive evidence, ask for an appropriate way to provide it.
If you report an infringement of your rights, explain the right involved, identify the material, and provide contact details. This general reporting channel does not replace any separate statutory notice procedure that Watson publishes. We may request further information to assess a report.
7. Enforcement and review
When we reasonably believe a violation has occurred, we may investigate and take action permitted by your agreement and applicable law. Depending on the seriousness and scope of the issue, action may include requesting a correction, disabling a shared link or integration, restricting a user, removing prohibited content, or suspending or terminating access.
Where practicable, we will limit action to the affected activity and provide notice explaining the reason and available corrective steps. We may act immediately where delay would create a security risk, permit unlawful activity, or cause material harm. We may withhold details when disclosure is legally prohibited or would compromise security or an investigation.
You may request review by replying to the notice or contacting hello@withwatson.co with the relevant facts. We will consider the information you provide. A review request does not automatically restore access while the issue remains unresolved.
Any access to Your Content during an investigation remains subject to our agreement, confidentiality duties, and applicable law. Suspension does not itself cancel agreed rights to content export, except to the extent the agreement or law permits a restriction.
8. Changes
We will identify revisions with a new effective date and give notice as required by your agreement and applicable law. Changes take effect through the amendment process in that agreement. Where affirmative acceptance is required, posting an updated policy alone does not amend your contract. Revisions do not retroactively turn permitted activity into a violation.
